Absolute Motorsport working with Spirit Moto Corsa

Absolute Motorsport are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with Spirit Motorcycles to deliver their social media output for the remainder of the 2020 season.

Spirit Motorcycles compete in the Quattro Plant British GP2 Championship, a support series of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

The team races under the name Spirit Moto Corsa thanks to a title sponsorship deal with the much-respected motorcycle dealer.

The British GP2 Championship runs alongside the British Supersport category, with the two classes competing together on track. This means riders battle not only for class victory, but also for overall honours.

The GP2 bikes have bespoke race chassis similar to those in the Moto2 World Championship but standard road engines (600cc 4-cylinder or 675cc 3-cylinder). The Supersport bikes are based on road bikes, such as the Yamaha YZF-R6, but have race-tuned engines.

Racing in the GP2 Championship is therefore a great proving ground for Spirit Motorcycles’ design, engineering and performance.

The team are running their very own, new for 2020, Spirit SP2 bike and are aiming for the title with their rider pairing of Mason Law and Joey Thompson.

After four races across two meetings, Law currently sits at the top of the riders standings by seven points. He took a brace of second places in Donington and took victory in the Snetterton Feature Race.

Thompson has also put in strong performances so far, but sits seventh in the points after an unfortunate last lap crash at Snetterton.

Absolute Motorsport are committed to expanding both the team and brand’s social media outreach, helping to promote the good work of the Shaftesbury-based manufacturer.

We will offer followers an in-depth and behind the scenes look at the team’s efforts, as well as thoughts from the riders during race weekends.
